Below are recommendations from students and teachers from GWA:
- “Buy a device that you can use for both home and school activities - one device used for everything is best.”
- “You have to carry the device around all day - the smaller it is and the lighter it is, the better it is.”
- “Protect it - buy a ‘skin’ or cover - it’s going to get knocks and scrapes as you carry it around all day.”
- “Everyone compares devices - who has the biggest/newest/best etc - but at the end of the day it’s a personal choice - something YOU need to be happy using all day every day.”
- “You only need to do internet research and web-based activities like presenting, publishing and creating so don’t get the most advanced - it’s not necessary.”
- “Battery life is so important. Choose and purchase a laptop with the longest battery life”
- “Personalise your laptop so it is easily recognizable as your own as it will become more difficult to lose/misplace.”
- “Light, small and super quick to load up. If I was to buy again, that’s what I would get.”
